When to monitor and when to act

Many problems in conservation involve choice among options – for example, which species or places to protect. Many (in fact most) conservation problems also involve incomplete information. Our new paper (link here or contact me for a copy) provides a technique to help tell us when, where and how often to monitor before we have enough information that it made sense to act.
